When Steven Spielberg directs a movie, he doesn't have to act in or write it. Directing the project and bringing it to life is enough to award him, but that doesn't translate over to music. Beyoncé is the greatest musical director in music but the industry downplays her efforts.

Yeah the way I look at it is having the taste/knowledge of who to write in the room + self awareness / skill of melding them together in a way that feels cohesive and authentic to your brand is a really impressive skill - very different than doing it all yourself but challenging
