I was laid off 2 months ago with thousands of coworkers and I’ve never even seen a severance letter let alone been offered severance.
Regarding Twitter’s reduction in force, unfortunately there is no choice when the company is losing over $4M/day. Everyone exited was offered 3 months of severance, which is 50% more than legally required.

Hey Sam! What communication have you received from twitter since being laid off? Have any of your colleagues received this communication, and would you be willing to introduce me to one (even off the record)?

That should’ve been part of your exit packet. They would share the amount, and in some cases, you could negotiate.

A company I worked for in Texas 2019 was forced to pay 3 months severance to all 500+ employees due to the Warn Act. We originally were going to get 2 weeks.

Wait that was quite a sleight of hand, as Jilette would call it. Musk owns Twitter more or less outright, so HE is losing ~$4M a day and it's no fault but his. But what a great justification for laying off thousands of workers and then attempting to deny them severance.
