Matt Smith is incredible in HOD but the time jumps are jarring and it feels like they’re leaning into fan service a bit TOO hard. ROP feels less burdened by the source material and casting has been pretty stellar

I’m waiting to binge watch LOR, is it that good?

it feels less weighted down by the source material than GOT in my opinion!

I agree. The level of detail, production value, and just pure imagination is so incredible in Rings of Power. Also, even though I'm a big Tolkein fan, I'm really excited to see how the creators reimagine the material. Dragon is good -- but it's just Succession in Westeros.

also need the constant time leaps in HOD to stop? Matt Smith, however, is doing the damn thing!

HOD > Rings. I think you’re right about fan service, but also I don’t think that’s necessarily a bad thing. Rings is being a bit too slow, while HOT is like 15 pages in already from a 200+ page story, yet things feel like they’re actually moving

hate multi-year jumps every episode. it's jolting and not sustainable from a storytelling perspective!

I honestly thought they were the same thing until I saw this. Whoops 🤷🏻‍♂️
