This wouldn't have been an issue if @alanjones hadn't threatened Louise Herron with the loss of her job and @GladysB 's cowardly capitulation without stating any support for her Public Official. The Public do not like any perception of politicians being pawns of powerful people.

If the opera house is not an advertising billboard what is the harbour bridge new years eve. A cracker stand

That’s hilarious! A politician calling for perspective. This whole issue and many like it are because these people have such a warped version of it.

I’m not sure “perspective” is the right term. More that an objective understanding of our national spirit is adopted. Spivs and shonks undermine good judgement and eventually cause the whole establishment to collapse. GB you have lost all credibility. Baird might need staff.

@jamie86 Respecting public opinion but then ignoring it. Same as with the Epping - Chatswood rail tunnel closure. crudeoilpeak.info/sydney-pla…

@GladysB "Perspective" means: your disagreement is irrational because of your viewpoint. No. Standing your ground is a citizens right in a democracy. It's your lack of taste & lower the bar to drag down an Australian icon to level of billboard is tacky. #ShitTourismImageSydney
