A candidate with a moral compass difference from the usual Abbott rule that the libs are looking for

If it were possible for parties to put up two or more candidates, with the obvious distribution of preferences, so that the electorate can select both the party and the person this would strengthen democracy. Why must such decisions happen at the political party branch level?

He must think he can't win....cushy Senate job, perhaps!? #auspol

is it a tinge of “I don’t think we can win… so let’s put a woman up front to take the fall”. ?Hope not.

Even if that woman is less capable or qualified?

Or did it for other reasons...
Andrew Bragg is flat-out lying. He withdrew because he’s being offered a Senate position and because there’s a good likelihood Libs might lose #WentworthVotes. Bragg is not the feminist hero he protests to be. Just a typical Lib looking out for his own interests. #AusPol

It’s the old historical imperative, when the shit is about to hit the fan put a woman in charge.

Imagine that !Even if a woman is preselected they will still believe she not up to scratch ... We were just being nice .. make every bloke feel better .

What a liar! He knows Wentworth will be a gutsy fight & he hasn't got it in him. Meanwhile a cushy walk-right-in, 1st place on a senate ticket is presented to him on a plate! These are who you would prefer to vote for? He can't even tell the truth about it either!
