#pokemonanime is odd. Evil teams constantly use mechs to catch wild Pokemon instead of Pokeballs. I mean like... are Pokeballs that expensive that's it's easier to just buy a giant mech? o.O #Pokemon

Ok, the ONLY thing I can maybe say... is a Pokeball doesn't work on another trainer's pokemon so they had mechs/weapons for it, and it'd be cheaper in the long run to use the same mech than buy more pokeballs... But...

The problem with that is it's easier to store and transport a Pokeball than a Pokemon in a cage. Not to mention they COULD just, Oh I dunno, steal the trainer's Pokeball? They even have something like that since season 1 on the Battle Aboard the St. Anne.

It's easier to transport a Pokéball, but more difficult to keep Pokémon inside the ball.

But if you put the pokeball on a cage so it can't open...

...Then that kind of defeats the portability factor a bit, unless you have many Poké Balls in one cage.
