Literally no other country in the world has this sort of tax exemption. Our tax code is built on the idea of progressive taxation. If you're at 80th percentile for income, you are paying for everyone below you, SALT or no SALT. Why give tax breaks to the rich?

Do you have any evidence to back this up?
Also, it doesn't seem like it matters that much. If the 1% is raking in most of the benefit u don't really care where the 1% live.

I'm not going to do that work for you. The burden is on you to do that work if you want to convince anyone of this argument, otherwise you're just talking out your ass.
If red states have many more poor people, then the goal of a progressive tax code would be to help them.
