No Mozart.
The music of Wagner is actually more accessible than some have been led to believe, because of the similiarities fiom music ahares with his music.
I would reccomend seeing a Cavalleria (short & sharp), and listening to Die Walküre at one's leisure.
Peter Grimes by Benjamin Britten: more relatable story for modern tastes (working-class drama / unforgiving power of nature) than much 18/19th century opera + I get goosebumps just imagining the 'moonlight' sea interlude among other bits
I was 8 when I went to my first opera....in east Berlin Hänsel und Gretel
My next one was Otello!i was 10.
Then came madame butterfly, and then Salome, and then came Wagner!never looked back! I just love opera......
